Roberto Clemente (1934–1972) was a legendary Pittsburgh Pirates right fielder who recorded 3,000 career hits and became an enduring symbol of baseball excellence, Latino pride, and humanitarian service.

In 1998, Pittsburgh’s Sixth Street Bridge was renamed the Roberto Clemente Bridge in honor of legendary Pirates right fielder Roberto Clemente.
