Built in 1868, Puddicombe House was the home of Samuel Merner, a prominent businessman and politician in New Hamburg. Over the years, it changed hands several times. In 2004, the Cressman family purchased the house and converted it into a commercial business featuring a restaurant, a bed and breakfast, a spa, and a hair salon.
