Originally a commercial building constructed in 1905 and later known as the Mayfair Hotel, it was demolished in 2015 due to safety issues. The site remained vacant for several years before a new five-storey commercial building was constructed. To commemorate the former hotel, a fritted glass façade printed with its outline was used.
